Dacoits loot cash, jewellery from ex-armyman’s house in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi: Dacoits looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh from the house of Bhikhari Mahto, a retired armyman, at village Jagdar under Parihar police station in Sitamarhi district on January 27, 2018, night.

The  family members of Bhikhari Mahto were mercilessly beaten up by the armed dacoits, who also looted cash and jewellery from the house of Mahto’s brother Sanjay. They entered the house by scaling the back courtyard wall. On hearing the cry of the inmates, the villagers assembled there and challenged the dacoits. But, they lobbed bombs and fled away. No one was injured in the bomb explosion. Sadar SDPO Vir Dhirendra visited the place of occurrence after the dacoity. Raids are underway to nab the dacoits, said police sources.
