CPI(ML) workers protest ban on sand mining in Bhojpur

Ara : Hundreds of activists of the CPI (ML) led by Qyamuddin Ansari on September 13, 2017, staged gherao of the office of Bhojpur DM in support of the sand labourers who have been rendered unemployed after ban on sand mining in the district three months back. They were raising slogans against the district administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Qyamuddin said that with the ban on sand mining in river Sone, thousands of sand labourers had been rendered jobless and their family members ere on ther verge of starvation. He said that ban on sand mining not only affected the sand labourers but also the masons and daily wage earners but the officials of the Bhojpur district administration were not all concerned about it. He said if the ban is not revoked, the district administration will have to provide employment to these sand labourers and other daily wage earners.
