Patna : Bihar Congress Chief Madan Mohan Jha on March 26, 2019, reiterated AICC President Rahul Gandhi’s commitment of wiping out poverty from the country. Talking to mediapersons at BPCC headquarters Sadaqat Ashram here, Jha talked about Nyuntam Aay Yojna (NYAY) announced by Congress President Rahul Gandhi on March 25, 2019 if Congress comes to power at centre after the LS polls.
Jha said that under the NYAYscheme, poor families belonging to any caste or section whose average monthly income is Rs 6,000 would get Rs 6,000 per month. This amount would directly go into the account of woman of the family, he pointed out adding that about 25 crore people of five crore families would benefit from this scheme. Jha said that by giving of Rs 72,000 annually to poor under this scheme would lead to poverty-free India. He described it as historic decision. Jha said that this scheme of Rahul Gandhi has shocked the leaders who made only false promises in the name of development and misguided people in the name of caste, religion and community.
Jha said that even Modi government had in the economic survey of 2016-17 admitted that poverty was reduced during Congress regime. Congress’ NYAY would wipe out poverty from the country, he added.
