Bokaro  ( Jharkhand) : More than five dozen students  of Bokaro Mahila college on January 9 took out procession in Bokaro steel city to protest frequent attack on women across the country including Ranchi, Delhi and Bengaluru. Fuming over repeated attack on females, they raised slogans against both the union and state  governments alleging they were just making tall claims  of giving protection to them but the it remains a fact that not a day passes when women are not attacked.

The procession, which started from college campus in sector III of Bokaro  steel city led by student union president  Shreya Agrawal,  covered more than 2 km to reach  Gandhi Chowk of city where it converted into a meeting where several girls criticised state  and central government for not doing enough to ensure security to women who fear to move in the city. After the meeting,  student union president Shreya Agarwal stated that in last  two weeks more than  half dozen girls were attacked in different parts of the country including at Ranchi, Bengaluru.“ How can we  claim  that we are a developing nation where females are safe and  have freedom to move anywhere any time in country,” she said. Much more has to be done  for security of females  as only tall talks will not do, Agarwal said.

” I Knoew the two innocent girls of Ranchi who faced problems but the culprits are still out of police net. We feel insecure and the day is not far when our family members will stop us from going out of  our houses. Who will give us protection? Where are law enforcing agencies,” charged Agarwal supported by several others.
