Ara:  Bhojpur District Consumers’ Grievance Redressal Forum slapped a fine of Rs 3,000 on the Superintending Engineer (SE) South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) on January 9 for issuing wrong  electric bill to a consumer. It also directed him to remit surcharge and DPS fine from the date of the filing of the case till date.

Anita Devi got electric connection in 2006 and regularly deposited electric bill till June 2011 on time but she got electric bill of Rs 10,536 for the month of August 2011 and again of Rs. 11,668 for the month of September 2011 while earlier she never got electric bill of more than Rs 200 per month. She complained the officials of the SBPDCL several  times but to no avail and so she knocked the door of the Consumers’ Grievance Redressal Forum.
