Ara : Bhojpur police fished out body of a minor girl from river Ganga with the help of divers at Nainijor under Brahmpur police station in Buxar district on June 7, 2017, evening after three days and brought it to Ara Sadar Hospital for post- mortem on June 8.

SHO, Karnamepur police outpost, Bhojpur, Shambhu Kumar said that a barat had come to the house of Ram Bihari Singh of Ishwarpura under Karnamepur police outpost from Vishambharpur under Natwar police station on June 5, 2017. When the marriage was being solemnized, some overenthusiastic people were firing in the air in which  a minor girl Suganti alias Suwanti Kumari, 8, daughter of Munna Yadav received bullet injury and died on the spot while Abhijeet Singh, 20, son of Harendra Singh, and Abhimanyu Singh, 28, son of Jagnarayan Singh, were injured.

Later, the miscreants carried the body about 6 km away from the place of occurrence and threw it into river Ganga at Bihar Ghat. An FIR was lodged with Karnamepur police outpost against two named and four unnamed persons on the statement of deceased’s grandmother, Kesari Kuer. Suwanti Kumari’s parents live in Kolkata. She lived with her grandmother at Ishwarpura village under Karnamepur police outpost.
