BJP workers stage dharna at Ara

Ara : Hundreds of activists of the BJP led by their Bhojpur district president Kameshwar Kushwaha staged a day long dharna in front of the office of Bhojpur district Magistrate on June 26, 2018, and observed ‘Black Day’ in protest against the emergency imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on June 26, 1975.

BJP District General Secretary Rajendra Tiwari said that Congress had imposed emergency in the country on June 26, 1975, that continued till March 21, 1977,  when the Janata Party government was formed at the Centre. He said the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had gagged the democracy and also got arrested leaders like Morarji Desai, Jai Prakash Narayan and others.
