Patna : Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on December 1, 2017, proved what an asset he is to the BJP by sweeping civic elections winning 14 out of 16 mayoral posts including Kashi (Varanasi), Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Firozabad, Moradabad, Mathura and Ayodhya.
CM Yogi Adityanath described the victory of the BJP in state civic polls as an approval of PM Narendra Modi’s policies by the people. He said it is  the mandate for the economic reforms of PM Modi as more than 5 crore population has expressed their confidence in the Prime Minister. The Congress again fared poorly including in its bastion of Amethi.
