Ara: Bhojpur police, acting on a tip off, arrested three drug smugglers at Ara late Thursday evening and seized 777 gram Heroin. The police also seized three mobiles, a brief case and Rs 1,430 cash from their possession.
Bhojpur SP Kshtranil Singh said that he was tipped off that someone was carrying narcotics from Ujjain and was likely to go to Patna. He immediately formed a police team under the SHO Nawada police station, Ara, that laid a trap around Ara railway station. On late Thursday evening Krishna Kumar alias Amrendra Kumar, 54, son of Kameshwar Prasad of village Koil under Charpokhari police station, pulled alarm chain of 19322 DN express train at Ara railway station under Danapur division of East Central Railways and got down there. As he came out of the Ara railway station and tried to hire a three- wheeler, the police team arrested him and seized a brief case with 500 gram of Heroin in it, a voter I-Card in the name of Amrendra Kumar and a mobile phone.
Krishna Kumar lives at Shivganj locality under Town police station, Ara, and had started working as carrier of drug and narcotics. During interrogation, Krishna Kumar revealed a lot and on the basis of information iven by him, police conducted raid on C K Road Chaudhariaana locality under Town police station and arrested Md. Riyaz, son of Md Siddiqui, and Md Javed, son of Md Riyaz. Md Riyaz is said to be a refrigerator mechanic and runs a shop near Town school hardly 50 metre away from the Town police station. The police also seized 177 gram Heroin, 102 gram brown sugar and 700 gram chemical or booster drugs from their house.
The SP said that Krishna Kumar worked as a carrier for Md Riyaz and had gone to Ujjain on May 23, 2016, and contacted a person there at about 8 pm on May 24, who gave him a black colour briefcase containing about 500 gram of Heroine in a sealed plastic bag. He left for Ara in the morning on May 25. He had to deliver the consignment to Md Riyaz who was to supply it his customers at Patna. The SP said Krishna Kumar is a poor person and was enticed to join the racket for only Rs 9,000 a month.
