Bagaha Block -I BDO assaulted at his chamber

Bagaha: BDO of Bagaha Block -I in West Champaran district Anand Kumar Bibhuti was allegedly thrashed by the husbands of Pramukh Lalita Devi and Up Pramukh Shusila Devi identified as Jawahar Baitha and Mithilespati Tiwari respectively on Tuesday afternoon at his official chamber.

Sources said that Baitha and Tiwari reached the BDO’s chamber and asked about payment for a PCC road which was recently constructed on block premises at a cost of over Rs 12 lakh. The BDO refused topay claiming that the road was built without estimate sanction.  and administrative approval. This led to heated exchange between the two sides after which BDO Bibhuti was thrashed by them at his office chamber.

Bagaha SDM Dharmendar Kumar reached the place after getting information about the incident and Up Pramukh’s husband Mithilespati Tiwari was taken into custody by polic. A case has been lodged in this connection with Bagaha police station by the  BDO  in which husbands of Pramukh and Up Pramukh have been made named accused. But as the case was lodged under bailable sections, police released Tiwari on bail on Wednesday, said SHO Bagaha PS Satyandra Ram.
