Ara lawyer’s fast conrinues

Ara : Jitendra Kumar Singh, a lawyer, continued his indefinite fast for the eight consecutive day on October 9 , 2017, at the gate of the office of the Bhojpur District Magistrate (DM) to press his 17 point demands including written assurance regarding the government honour to the Lasadhi martyrs and installation of their statues at Ara railway station.

Singh proceeded on an indefinite strike under the banner of Mahapurush Prerana Utthan Samiti in protest against insult of freedom fighters by the officials of the Bhojpur district administration. He said that at least 12 persons including a woman had sacrificed their lives for the cause of the country at village Lasadhi  under Garhani police station during freedom movement and the government had announced to observe their martyr day with state honour but not a single officer of Bhojpur district administration bothers to reach Lasadhi to pay tribute to them.
