Former Zonal Commander of Ranveer Sena Dhan Ji, 2 others shot dead

Sasaram : Three persons including former Zonal Commander of banned Ranveer Sena Dhan Ji Singh, one of the named accused in Charpokhari carnage in the 1990s, were shot dead by their own bodyguards on October 10, 2017, at village Durgapur under Sasaram Muffassil police station in Rohtas district when they were going to Dehri-on-Sone in their Scorpio.The two other deceased were identified as Mantu Singh, maternal uncle of Dhan Ji, and Shashikant Tiwari alias Shashi Baba.

A named FIR was lodged with Sasaram Muffassil police station against eight persons including Guddu Singh, son of Bahadur Singh of Jaipur village, Chandan Gupta, Babli Kumar, Chandan Yadav, Abhishek Kumar, Raushan Kumar, Anish Kumar Mishra of Churamanpur in Buxar district, and Amit Kumar Mishra of Siwan district on the statement of Kiran Devi, wife of Dhan Ji. Police recovered the bodies from the outskirt of Drugapur-Shahpur village under Sasaram Muffassil police station and brought them to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Dhan Ji had recently participted in the 1032 kundiya yajna and International Dharm Sammelan organized by Laxmi Prapann Jiar Swami at Chandawa to mark the 1,000^th birth anniversary of Jagadguru Sri 1008 Sri Ramanucharya.

SHO, Sasaram Muffassil police station, Jag Niwas Singh said that Dhanji was former commander of Sasaram zone of Ranveer Sena and had contested 2015 Bihar assembly elections from Nokha assembly constituency. He was jailed several times in connection with different criminal cases. After his release from the jail about six months ago, Dhanji was allegedly engaged in the illegal stone and sand mining business. He had allegedly also started realizing money from the trucks loaded with sand and stone chips. He was also known for his love for different firearms. He had employed bodyguards through a Buxar based agency. But his rise in illegal trade of stone chips and sand mining had annoyed some stone and sand mafias. They  hatched a plan to eliminate him, the SHO added.

The SHO said Dhan Ji was going to Dehri-on-Sone along with his bodyguards and associates. When he reached near Durgapur village, his bodyguards fired on Dhanji and his two associates and killed them on the spot and escaped.
