Ara : Over four dozen inmates of Ara jail observed day long fast on September 1, 2017, in protest against non- availability of basic amenities in the jail. They also raised slogans against the jail administration and boycotted food. The inmates also alleged that the officials of the jail administration connived in supply of drugs, mobiles and other objectionable items inside jail. The agitating inmates warned if basic amenities were not provided to them at the earliest, they would observe indefinite fast.
