Kumar Rajiv Nayan
Ara : Deputy Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC), Basant Singh, in a communication to Municipal Commissioner Pramod Kumar, has demanded thorough inquiry into alleged embezzlement of a huge fund in the name of cleanliness. A copy of the letter has been given to City Manager, AMC, Shekhar Kumar.
The Deputy Mayor said that the AMC is getting Ara town cleaned through outsourcing and assigned the task of cleaning to Shikhar Sewa Sansthan and pays Rs 5, 50,000 per month to it. He said that the Shikhar Sewa Sansthan never desilts the drains of the town and just takes out plastic from the drains.
Municipal Corporation, AMC, Pramod Kumar said that he had not gone through the letter of the Deputy Mayor so far hence would not comment on it. He said that the aforesaid NGO is responsible for cleaning the town and if the complaint is found correct, the drains and roads will be cleaned. City Manger, AMC, Shekhar Kumar also said that he had not read the letter and would comment on it only after going through it.
