Ara : Angry over the death of Ramnath Paswan, 28, of village Ranisagar under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district in an accident at Pachchhim Pokhara that took place on June 16, 2019, his family members and villagers blocked Ara-Buxar NH84 near Shahpur in Bhojpur district with the body on June 17, 2019.
Ramnath Paswan succumbed to his injuries at Patna Medical College and Hospital on June 17 morning. As his body reached Ara, his family members and villagers blocked Ara-Buxar NH84 near Shahpur with the body. They burnt tyres on road and paralysed movement of vehicles for about two hours demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from Circle Officer, Bihia. A cheque of Rs 20,000 was also given under the Chief Minister Family Benefit Scheme. Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
SHO, Shahpur police station, said that Ramnath Paswan of Ranisagar village was returning from Gadhani on June 16 morning on his motorcycle after attending a wedding there. When he reached near Pachchhim Pokhara under Shahpur police station, a speeding Pick-Up collided head-on with his motorcycle injuring him seriously. The locals rushed him to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred him to the PMCH where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
