Ara : Bhojpur district administration has completed arrangements for holding free, fair and peaceful elections to Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) on May 21. Section 144 CrPC has been enforced in a radius of 100 metre of every polling booth. The elections will also held to Nagar Panchayats of Koelwar, Piro, Jagdishpur, Bihia and Shahpur. Bhojpur District Magistrate (DM) cum District Election Officer (DEO) Birendra Prasad Yadav and  SP Kshatranil Singh issued a joint order in this regard. The polling will be held to 44 out of 45 wards of AMC as Malati Devi has been declared elected unopposed from ward no 6.

Talking to mediapersons, the DM said that four tier security arrangements have been made and action will be taken against who dare gather near the booths. He said videography has been arranged at each and every polling booth. A control room has also been set up for the speedy redressal of complaints during polling. He said zonal magistrates, super zonal magistrates and police officials have been deputed on election duty adding that 2 zonal and 2 super zonal magistrates have been deputed for the AMC election while one zonal and one super zonal magistrate have been deputed for each Nagar panchayat election. The DM said that altogether 3,05,234 voters will exercise their franchise at 323 polling booths in Bhojpur district.
