Ara : Hundreds of activists of All India Students’ Association (AISA) led by their Bhojpur district president Md Shabbir took out a procession from their office near eastern railway crossing, Ara,  on January 17 that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at the gate of Bhojpur District Magistrate’s office to press their demands. Later, they entered the campus of  Ara Collectorate and staged dharna in front of the office of the DM  raising slogans against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad.

Their main demands included arrest of the Principal Indu Kumari and teacher Mithilesh Singh along with others of Government Ambedkar Girls Residential School, Vaishali,  in connection with rape and murder of an inmate of the hostel,  Rs 20 lakh compensation to the family of the girl and a government job to her, security arrangements at all the Government  Residential Schools and Kasturba Residential Schools of the state. Later, a three – member delegation met the DM and handed him over their charter of demands.
