Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : With the global meet scheduled for in February 2017in Jharkhand , thousands of reputed entrepreneurs are demanding industrial  plots in Bokaro Industrial Area development Authority (Biada). On the  request  of Industries  department, Jharkhand, director  K Ravi Kumar, who in his video conferencing with Bokaro deputy commissioner (DC) R M  Ray  in December 2016 had stated that in view of the demand from entrepreneurs who are even knocking at the doors of  chief minister office, district administration should  identify land, Bokaro district administration has identified  585 acre under three blocks  of the district for industrial purpose .

The identification of land was conducted under the leadership of additional collector Jugnu Minj, who  with help of his men, identified 585 acres  plots under Chandnakyari, Chas and Jaridih blocks of the district making it very clear that  it is very tough to get one large chunk of plots  at one place. Jugnu Minj said that in view of the demand for government land  his men identified  several small plots at different places whose transfer to Biada has to be one by Bokaro DC who is also  MD, Biada.

Biada sources stated that  those  very keen  to establish  their industrial units include Birla group, Bharat petroleum , Tirupati Balaji industries, GA Sai International, Bhavani Flour mill, Annapurna Industries, Prabhat Pharmaceuticals , GRS steel, Bokaro electrical works, Maa Parvati steel and Amit Enterprises. Birla’s flagship cement  plant, Ultra  cement,  has already been allotted 50 acre but they are demanding  another 100  acre  as one chunk at Bokaro besides it is even  asking Biada to  fill two big ponds situated  in the 50 acre plot which has been allotted to it which has been refused by Biada.

Biada  has even made personal request to SAIL chairman P K Singh (letter sent even to union steel minister in November)  to allot it one thousand acres from its unused  17,000 acres of land to make another  industrial hub in  Bokaro city  but till date they have not received any positive response.

Bokaro Industrial Area development  Authority (Biada), which has  about 650 acre under its fold and 494 industrial units  are established in these three districts,  has flashed advertisement  in newspapers and has even asked to apply  On-line  for allotment of its   120  vacant industrial plots  of different sizes for which till date 197 applicants are in queue.  BIADA sources  informed that the largest chunk of land is  in an area of 9.58 lakh square feet while the smallest one is only of  1,306 square feet.

Bokaro DC cum Biada MD R M Ray said that as its not possible to get one chunk of big land at one place, his officials have identified small plots under three different blocks  and very soon process of handing over the plots to Biada will start.“ Biada plots are in big demand. We are  trying to identify more government plots  which will be handed over to Biada very soon,” said Ray
