ADG, SIT, submits progress report in Niraj murder case to DGP

Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) : Though Jharkhand CID ADG Ajay Kumar Singh, who was appointed as chief of  special investigation team (SIT) to inquire into killing of former Dhanbad deputy mayor and congress leader Niraj Singh, has submitted  his confidential report to DGP D K Pandey about latest  development in  the  high profile murder case, but even after 16 days of the  sensational murder, police are yet to reach a conclusion as to who was the main conspirator and the main reason behind the killing.

Though the ADG in his report states that Niraj’s killing was also part revenge of murder Ranjay Singh (considered close to BJP MLA Sanjiv Singh) who was shot dead on January 29, 2017, but there is another powerful  person of Saraidhela whose phone details after and  before the murder are also being looked into. The ADG has even pointed out several lapses on the part of police which resulted in the murder and easy escape of the killers, who might have taken shelter in neighboring states of UP, Bihar or Bengal.

Highly placed sources  in the police administration revealed that  the main conspirator of the killing lives in Saraidhela area  of Dhanbad and was  in regular touch with the killers till 48 hours after the killing after which  his phone has been switched off. The mobile tower location and few phone records hours before the killing and even after the killing  clearly points out that   the conspirator was in touch with all 4 shooters who had taken rented house in Kusum Vihar (Dhanbad) and after the killing were given safe place to escape out of  Dhanbad.

Though  police till date has arrested 6 persons in this case but two teams of Dhanbad police has been sent to UP and Bihar in search of Pankaj Singh, Dablu and Runa Singh alias Mama  whose names have been by two arrested accused during police interrogation.

Talking to  this reporter, Coal belt DIG  Saket Singh, who is presently investigating  the murder, said that police teams are in the look out for the three abovementioned criminals but at the same time kin of few  powerful politicians  of Dhanbad will again be interrogated whose phone details are ‘mysterious and suspicious’ and they have given few wrong leads the cops. “We are  looking for two youths who played vital role in this killing  including hiring the flat where the shooters stayed for several weeks. There arrest will give us clue as to who are  actually involved in this killing, “ stated the DIG.

Meanwhile, Bachha Singh, uncle of the  deceased ,charged that  involvement of  BJP MLA Sanjiv Singh in this case cannot be ruled out and demanded CBI inquiry into it. He has written to President, Prime minister, Union home minister, Rahul Gandhi, Governor and even chief ministers of Jharkhand and Bihar.
