Calf Rhinoceros dies at Patna Zoo

Patna : A calf Rhinoceros, which was lying ill ever since her birth in the wee hours on November 3, 2017, died at Patna Zoo on November 5 early morning despite the efforts of the veterinarians to save her. Her mother, Rhinoceros Hartali, was not feeding milk to the calf for some unknown reasons. As a result, the calf fell ill and was unable to walk.

A top veterinarian of Guwahati Dr Gogoi was consulted on telephone and a three-member team was constituted for the treatment of the calf and she was given bottle milk. But, her condition did not improve.
