Patna : The two-member Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izzatnagar, Bareilly, UP, which had visited Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park (SGBP), Patna, on December 30, 2018, in the wake of outbreak of H5N1 Avian Influenza, in its inspection report, has recommended for stopping entry of vehicles inside the park and closure of the Zoo for 21 days starting from the day the last bird had died due to the disease.

The IVRI team comprised Dr S Nandi, Centre for Animal Disease Research & Diagnosis (CADRAD), IVRI, Izzatnagar, and Dr Karikalan M, Scientist, Wildlife Centre. The IVRI team has also recommended for continuation of process of disinfection and administration of multi-vitamin ( Vimreal -2ml) to the birds. It has also recommended for disinfection of natural sources of water.
