Police arested former MLA Suryadev Singh under public pressure

Sasaram : Under mounting public pressure, Rohtas police had to arrest the former MLA and JD(U) leader Suryadeo Singh late April 2 2017,  evening along with his wife Kusum Singh and five others in connection with indiscriminate firing in which a minor girl was killed and four others including three minor children were injured at village Tenduni in the district. The police also seized three rifles and seven live round cartridges from the spot.

After the incident, the villagers gheraoed the house of Suryadeo Singh and demanded his immediate arrest. Though the SP had earlier said that he has sought direction from Patna IG Nayyar Hasnain but later he had to arrest Suryadeo Singh, his wife Kusum Singh along with five others the same evening under mounting pressure of the villagers.

SP Manavjeet Singh Dhillon said that former MLA and JD(U) leader Suryadeo Singh had long drawn dispute with his brother Chandradeep Singh over a piece of land at Tenduni village under Bikramganj police station and both the sides had quarrelled several times.
