Bagaha : Altogether 6,800 food packets were distributed among flood affected people under  Bhitaha, Thakaraha, Piparasi, Madhubani, Sidhav and Bagaha blocks under Bagaha sub-division in West Champaran district on August 29, 2017.

Anil K Patel, Sub-election cum Relief officer of Bagaha sub-division, said here that one food packet weighing 11.05 kg contains 6 kg rice, 2 kg potato, 1 kg pulse, 1 kg gram, 500 grams sugar, 500 gram  salt besides 50 gram turmeric.

Patel said, ” We are trying our best to provide the food packet to the beneficiaries by visting their houses crossing rivulates encircling the villages. But, those whose names do not figure in the list of beneficiaries are causing law and order  problem hence now food packets are being distributed at block headquarters and police stations.” Patel said that 53,000 people of this sub-division were badly affected by flood in different rivers. He expected that food packets distribution work will be finished before September 2, 2017.
