Bagaha : The CPI (ML) activists staged a day long dharna on BR Ambedkar statue premises here on August 30, 2017, demanding adequate relief to the flood victims of the areas.They alleged that the relief materials supplied so far to the flood affected people had proved a drop in the ocean. They were demanding crop compensation at the rate of Rs 30,000 per acre and house building grant of not less than Rs 10,000 per house besides two quintal grains each family as relief.

D N Diwedi, a senior CPI(ML) leader said unless pucca guide bund and embankments are  made on the bank river Gandak and other hilly rivers, such devastating flood can’t be ruled out in future. Dewedi alleged that recent natural calamity was not natural but the government made. Many speakers including Sunil Yadav, Lalbabu Prasad, Parsursm Yadav and Naresh Yadav critised the state government for meagre flood relief distribution. Later, a delegation led by Bhikhari Prasad met the SDM Bagaha and handed him over a memorandum addressed to the Bihar Chief Minister.
