6 persons drowned to death in Sitamarhi on concluding day of Chhath

Sitamarhi: Six persons including four children drowned to death at different villages in Sitamarhi district during Chhath Puja festival on October 27, 2017. Anshu Kumari and Himanshu Kumar drowned in Maidan village pond while a resident of village Kumma Brahmdev Sah lost his life in village pond. A native of village  Hasima Rajan Kumar drowned in a local pond whereas Raushan Kumar and Ajay Kumar drowned to death at village Bhoraha and Ranauli respectively in the district.
On the other hand, two persons died due to electrocution in the district on October 27. Nitish Kumar, a resident of village Paraspatti under Dumra block, died as he touched a live electric wire. In another incident, Umesh Kumar, a native of village Mahmada under Bajpatti police station, too died due to electrocution after  coming contact with livewire.
