Saharsa : Five persons including four minor girls drowned in a tributary of river Kosi near village Shahpur-Devnavan under Nauhatta Circle in Saharsa district on June 23, 2019, afternoon. The villagers fished out the body of Mahendra Gupta, 65, a resident of Shahpur while search is on for the four girls.
Two of the four girls : Vandana Kumari , 10, and Kalpana Kumari, 9, are grand-daughters of deceased Mahendra Gupta. In fact, Mahendra Gupta drowned while trying to save the four girls, who had slipped into the deep water. The divers of SDRF have been requisitioned from Madhepura to locate the four missing girls.
