Saharsa : Radhey Thakur, an accused in Kundan Singh murder case, was shot dead in broad daylight in Ramphal Tola under Sadar police station, Saharsa, on May 6, 2019, allegedly in a gang war. Slain Radhey Thakur’s mother and relatives alleged that he was killed by police in a fake encounter and held SDPO Prabhakar Tiwary responsible for his death. Radhey Thakur’s mother alleged that a police team headed by SDPO Tiway had conducted raid at her house three days back and had even threatened them.
Police, on the other hand, said that Radhey Thakur was involved in several criminal cases including murder and police were searching for him for the past few months. SDPO Tiwary said that the deceased was involved in murder, loot, and other criminal cases. He, however, said that police were investigating into the murder of Radhey Thakur and the killers would not be spared. Radhey Thakur was shot dead at 11 am.
