Sitamarhi: A team of Bajpatti police station in Sitamarhi district detained four persons including an alleged motorbike lifter Rakesh Kumar, a resident of village Madhuban, in an extortion (Rangdari) demand case on November 29, 2017. Police said the investigation was underway and the case will be cracked soon.
A potato trader Manoj Kumar of Bajpatti block headquarters had been receiving frequently receiving extortion demand by unidentified goons on his mobile phone for some time. They were demanding money in the name of a gang allegedly headed by one Kundan Kumar. The callers used to tell Manoj Kumar either pay Rs two lakh or face dire consequences.
