Youth stabbed to death at Bettiah

Bettiah : Abhishek Sao, 22, son of Rajendar Sao of Turahatola locality of Bettiah town in West Champaran district, was stabbed to death by some miscreants on August 4, 2017, night. The reason behind the incident is said to be love affairs.

Sources said that the news of Abhishek’s murder spread like wildfire in Naya Bazzar locality of the town and his supporters registered their protest the whole night.They damaged four-five houses besides a in retaliation. They also assaulted many persons of the locality  in which one Poonam Devi, 23, was seriously injured and admitted to MJK District Hospital, Bettiah.

Sources said that family members and supporters of deceased did not allow police to lift the body on August 5 morning demandingimmediate arrest of the assailants. They blocked Soyababu Chowk after placing the body on the road. SDM, Bettiah, Sunil Kumar, and SDPO, Sanjay Jha, reached the spot and persuaded the agitators tolift the blockade after which the body was handed over to police and autopsy  was performed on their assurance that the killers will be arrested very soon. ASP, Bettiah Mohd Qasim said that a case has been lodged with Bettiah town police station in connection with murder of Abhishek and investigation was on.
