W Champaran police seize truck with 375 cartons of IMFL, 3 arrested

Bettiah : A police team led by ASP, Bettiah, Mohd Qasim, on August 4, 2017, night arrested three persons including a liquor trader of Sonipat district in Haryana and seized a truck bearing Haryana registration number and laden with 375 cartons IMFL (Royal Stag) near a Check- post on  Bettiah-Jagadishpur road in West Champaran district.

ASP, Bettiah Mohd Qasim, said that on the direction of  West Champaran SP Vinay Kumar, a police team was engaged in cheching sale and purchase of liquor. The team comprising SHO, Bettiah mufassil, Ramesh Chandra Upadhyay, Inspector Vimalendu Kumar and other police officials and force, during checking of vehicles seized a truck bearing Haryana registration number loaded with 375 cartons of IMFL and arrested truck driver Rajesh Kumar, cleaner Sonu and a liquor trader Aryabir Singh, all belonging to Sonipat district, Haryana, .on August 4 night.

The ASP said that the arrested trader confessed before police that the liquor consignment was to delivered in Bettiah town but the main operator Rajendar Singh of Sonipat had told them that whom the consignment was to be delivered they will be informed after reaching at the Check- post but the truck was seized before reaching the Check- post though the the truck driver tried to escape.
