Patna : World No 77 Yoshihito Nishioka, 23, Japan, stunned compatriot and World No 6 Kei Nishikori, 29, in the second round of Cincinati Masters at Ohio, USA, on August 14, 2019, late night.
Nishioka beat 6th seed Nishikori 7-6, 6-4 in second round. He won 3 break points in the match to 2 by Nishikori. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match. Nishioka’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 72 % & 60 %) was much higher than that of Nishikori (67 % & 48%).
Nishioka will face World No 38 Alex de Minaur, 20, Australia, in the 3rd round on August 15, 2019. Minaur defeated World No 42 Reilly Opelka, 21, USA, 7-6, 6-4 in the second round.
