Patna: An elderly woman Munni Devi, who was allegedly hit on her head by a Silwat by her grandson on December 18 morning, succumbed to her injuries at PMCH. Her grandson Deovrat Kumar alias Pappu, 16, has been arrested in this connection, said Buddha Colony police station SHO Manoj Mohan.

Police said that Munni Devi, 70, a resident of Lodipur under Buddha Colony ps, had some heated argument with her daughter- in-law on Sunday morning. The matter was pacified by her son Udai Shankar, who intervened in the matter, and then left his house for some work. Police said that later in the afternoon, Udai came to know that his mother had sustained head injuries. He immediately returned home and admitted his mother to a private nursing home on Bank Road. The attending doctors referred Munni to PMCH where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police said that the elderly woman was hit on her head by her grandson by silwat (stone used for grinding spice) causing serious injuries to her. The SHO said that the elderly women accused her grandson of beating her.
