Ara : Bhojpur District Magistrate Birendra Prasad Yadav along with his officials is working hard to make Bhojpur district Open Defecation Free (ODF) zone under the ‘Swachchh India Mission’ and all the panchayats under in seven assembly constituencies in the district are likely to be declared ODF within three month.
Ichari and Kusmha panchayats in Bhojpur district have already been declared ODF and now the district administration contemplating to make all the 229 panchayats in the district ODF within three month. Bhojpur DM said that altogether 14,000 pits in front of all the houses have been dug in all the 229 panchayats to build lavatories and the work will be completed within three month before the visit of CM Nitish Kumar during his ‘nischay yatra’. He directed all the Aaganwadi sahayikas and sevikas, patwari, jan shikshak, mukhiyas, sarpanch, revenue officers, Rural Agriculture Extension Officers, SDOs, COs, BDOs and others to motivate people not to go in the open for defecation and use lavatory.
The officials are making every efforts to make the people aware of the harm of open defecation. The officials are also awarding those co-operating in making the area ODF. The efforts have started bearing fruits, said the DM. People have made the campaign their goal and are working day and night to make their village ODF. They are taking oath before the DM not to go in the open for defecation and use lavatory. The DM termed the lavatory as ‘Izzat Ghar’.
