Buxar : Laksha Devi, who was allegedly set afire at her in-laws place at village Gosaipur under Brahmpur police station (PS) in Buxar district on March 10, 2017, after she failed to meet their demand for a bike in dowry, succumbed to her injuries at Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) on November 13, 2017.
A named FIR has been lodged by Brahmapur police station against five persons including Laksha’s husband Mohan Yadav on the statement of her father Jai Kumar Yadav but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
Jai Kumar Yadav of Ahirpurwa locality under Town police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, had married his daughter Laksha Devi with Mohan Yadav, son of Jodha Yadav of village Gosaipur under Brahmapur police station, two years ago and ever since she was being tortured by her in-laws for a motorcycle and when their demand was not fulfilled they allegedly sprinkled kerosene oil on her on March 10,2017, and set her afire.alive. Later, her parents admitted her to Patna Medical Collegeand Hospital in precarious condition where she succumbed to her injuries on November 13.
