Woman murdered at in-laws’ house in Gopalganj

Gopalganj: A pregnant woman Shamsoon Khatoon (32) was murdered at her house at village Jindapatti under Meerganj police station in Gopalganj district. The deceased was wife of Farhad Raza alias Guddu Khan. After the murder, the family members escaped from there.

On getting information, local police reached the deceased’s house and found her body hanging with a rope on February 4 morning. The body was later sent to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Locals said that Shamsoon, a native of Bhore, was married to Guddu Khan about seven years back. She left behind a four year old son and a two year old daughter. Guddu was earlier working in Kuwait and had returned to his native village about one- and- a- half month ago. Both husband and wife used to quarrel regularly after that, said the villagers adding that on February 4 morning when they saw silence at Khan’s house, they entered inside and found Shamsoon’s body hanging with the ceiling.

The villagers informed the Meerganj police about the incident. Local SHO BP Alok talked to the neighbours. He said that the deceased’s family members had escaped after the incident. The deceased’s parents have been informed about the tragic incident and the cops are waiting for them to lodge an FIR in this connection, said  SHO.
