Patna: Education minister and Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Ashok Chaudhury on Wednesday demanded “stern”(Kathor) action against the managements of private hospitals saying they exploit patients and their attendants economically.
Reacting to a case lodged against state capital’s premier private hospital,Paras Hospital, on Bailey Road, Chaudhury said patients were being fleeced by the managements and doctors of the hospital. The government will have to take some stern action against erring hospitals, he said.
Senior SP Manu Maharaj said an FIR has been lodged with Shastrinagar police station against the hospital by a woman from Sitamarhi whose mother died at the hospital due to alleged negligence by the doctors. The woman had taken videographs of the hispital staff claiming to treat her mother who was already dead. It was being done to claim more money from the attendants, the FIR alleged.
