Ara : Girija Devi, Member, Panchayat Samiti, and mother of Brajesh Mishra, on September 19, 2018, filed a complaint case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ara, against ASP, Jagdishpur, Manjeet Kumar Sheoran, and about two dozen police personnel for allegedly thrashing and misbehaving with the woman folk during a raid conducted at her house on September 17, 2018, at village Sonbarsha under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district.
Girija Devi said that a police team led by ASP, Jagdishpur, Manjeet Kumar Sheoran entered her house at village Sonbarsha under Shahpur police station at around 4am on September 17, 2018, without a lady constable to arrest Brajesh Mishra, one of the main accused in the murder of former BJP State Vice President, Bisheshwar Ojha and when he was not found in the house, police personnel misbehaved with woman folk and also thrashed and injured them. The injured women were admitted to Sadar Hospital, Ara.
She said that Shivajeet Mishra and others are already in the jail in connection with the murder case and only Brajesh Mishra is absconding and added that she was continuously putting pressure on Brajesh Mishra to surrender before the court yet police harass them.
Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar refuted all the charges of torture and misbehaviour with the womanfolk and said that police had gone to arrest Brajesh Mishra and when he was not found, police only queried the women of the family about his whereabouts.
