Ara: Bhojpur police under the supervision of Block Panchayati Raj Officer, Barhara block, exhumed the body of a married woman from the bank of river Ganga at village Laxmipur under Barhara police station and brought it to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem on November 23.

SHO Sinha police outpost Dhananjay Kumar said that Parvati Devi, daughter of Vashishthmuni Ram of Gausganj locality under Town police station, Ara, was married to Umesh Ram of Laxmipur in 2014 and was pregnant. He said that the in-laws killed her and buried the body on the bank of river Ganga at Laxmipur to erase evidence and a complaint was filed with Sinha police outpost on November 19.  He said that he came to know that the body of the deceased was buried on the bank of river Ganga on November 22 hence under the supervision of a magistrate exhumed the body and brought it to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.The father of the deceased alleged that her in-laws tortured her just for a gold chain and a motorcycle and when their demands were not fulfilled they killed his daughter.
