Two notorious criminals wanted by UP, Bihar police arrested in Gopalganj

Gopalganj: East Champaran and Gopalganj police, in a joint operation, arrested two notorious gangsters including Raju Singh  Rathore, an active member of Azad Hind Fauj, from Sareya locality under Town police station on November 23 from a house.

Rathore was evading arrest in several cases lodged with different police stations in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Rathore along with his another criminalGabbar Singh had taken shelter in the house of one Kashinath Singh Master in Sareya locality after committing crime. Gabbar happens to be son of Kasinath. Rathore was wanted in connection with over 20 cases of erious offences lodged in Varanasi and Deoria in Uttar Pradesh and different police station in Bihar. A team of East Champaran police took the arrested persons with them in the evening. Gopalganj SP Ravi Ranjan Kumar alerted all the police stations of the district after arrest of Rathore and Gabbar.

Confirming the arrest, Gopalganj SP said that Rathore and his associates had escaped after the murder of four members of a family at village Sirha under Pakridayal police station in East Champaran in August, 2016. He said AK 47 was used in the killing. Gopalganj SP said that soon after the killings, police teams of East Champaran, West Champaran,Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran and Muzaffarpur were carrying out raids to arrest the members of Azad Hind Fauz.

He said that soon after getting information that some members of the gang with AK 47 had taken shelter in Sareya locality in Gopalganj, a police team was constituted in consultation with his East Champaran counterpart. Though the police team could not recover the weapon, both were handed over to Motihari police team after interrogation, he added.
