Bettiah : Pumpi Devi, 26, of Padmanagar locality under Town police station, Bettiah, in West Champaran district was strangulated to death allegedly by her in- laws on March 22, 2017, night on her failure to meet their dowry demand. Shyambihari Thakur, father of the deceased of Areraj village in East Champaran district, has lodged a case with Town police station, Bettiah, under Prevention of Dowry Act on March 23 making her husband Adityadeo, father- in- law Jagadish Sharma, mother- in- law Batasa Devi, and Aditya’s younger brother Ratnesh Kumar named accused. All the named accused are absconding, police sources said.
