Ara : Sangeeta Devi, wife of Santosh Kumar of village Kitapur under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district, was electrocuted to death when a live electric wire fell on her around 11 am on August 9, 2019.
As the news of her death spread, the villagers blocked Ara-Mohania NH-30 for about two hours. They burnt tyres on road paralysing movement of vehicles raising slogans against the officials of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) and demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakhto the next of kin of the deceased. Sangeeta Devi was going to market when a live electric wire fell on her killing her on the spot.
Rohit Kushwaha, Bhojpur district President of Youth Wing of RLSP, said that an aggressive agitation would be launched against the SBPDCL if its officials did not improve their style of functioning.
