Woman drowns to death in river Ganga in Bhojpur

Ara :  Ganita Devi, 32, wife of Prabhu Nath Singh of village Nathmalpur under Barhara police station in Bhojpur district, drowned to death in river Ganga on July 27, 2018, morning, while taking a dip  in the river at Nathmalpur Ghat on the occasion of Guru Purnima.

Ganita Devi had gone to Nathmalpur Ghat along with a women of the village. When she was taking a dip, she was swept away by the fast current and drowned. Seeing her drowning, the other women started crying. Hearing her cry, the villagers rushed to the spot and tried to rescue Ganita Devi but in vain. Later, police fished out the body with the help of villagers and brought it over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for postmortem.
