Bettiah : A young pregnant woman Hunny Singh, a resident of Indira Chowk locality of Bettiah town in West Champaran district, died on October 4, 2018, morning, after giving birth to a child at the private hospital of Dr Manju Chaudhary on October 3.
The family members of the deceased and locals created a ruckus after her death shouting slogans against Dr Manju Chaudhary before her clinic. The protesters also put up a blockade and burnt tyres on the hospital road  on October 4, 2018, morning after death of the woman.
The blockade was lifted only after arrival of West Champaran SP Jayant Kant, SDPO Pankaj Kumar and other officials there who pacified the protesters who were demanding lodging of a criminal case of negligence against the doctor.
Police sources said that Hunny Singh was admitted to the hospital ten days back and delivered a baby on October 3, 2018. Her condition started deteriorating after delivery but the doctor did not attend her for   24 hours after the delivery despite repeated request by her family members. The doctor finally referred her to PMCH but died on way to Patna. Her parents and locals registered their strong protest.
