Anderson, Gasquet, Tsitsipas enter QF of ATP Japan Open 2018

Patna : World No 9 in ATP rankings Kevin Anderson, 31, South Africa, World No 15 Stefanos Tsitsipas, 20, Greece, and World No 25 Richard Gasquet, 32, France, entered the quarter-finals of Japan Open 2018, an ATP World Tour 500 event, at Tokyo on October 4, 2018.

Anderson beat World No 41 Francis Tiafoe, 20, USA, in a three-set encounter 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Anderson fired 18 Aces in the match to 8 by Tiafoe. Tiafoe committed 5 double faults to 2 by Anderson. Anderson won 3 break points too compared to just one by his rival. Both the players won three games in a row each in the match.

Gasquet beat World No 27 Nick Kyrgios, 23, Australia, in a tough contest 7-6, 7-6. Kyrgios fired 20 Aces in the match to 12 by Gasquet. Kyrgios committed 3 double faults. Gasquets won 3 games in a row. Gasquet and Anderson will clash in the QF.

Tsitsipas beat World No 38 Alex de Minaur, 19, Australia, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 in the Round of 16 to enter the QF. Minaur committed 3 double faults to 1 by Tsitsipas.
