2 liquor smugglers held, 85 bottles of IMFL seized

Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at Neknam Tola under Barhara police station in Bhojpur district on October 4, 2018, and seized 85 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 61 litre of countrymade liquor. Police also seized a Bolero and a motorcycle and arrested two liquor smugglers.

SHO, Barhara police station, Uday Pratap Singh said that he got information that some liquor smugglers were selling liquor at Neknam Tola and adjoining areas and so he immediately swung into action. He said that police conducted raids at the house of Dhirendra Singh at Neknam Tola and seized 50 bottles of IMFL though he escaped from the scene.

Police also conducted raids at different places at Neknam Tola and its vicinity and arrested two liquor smugglers: Raju Lala and Manoj Singh, and seized 35 bottles of IMFL and 61 litre of countrymade liquor from their possession. He said that the arrested liquor smugglers were sent to jail after lodging a named FIR against them under the Prohibition and Excise Act.
