Woman commits suicide at in-laws’ place at Rohtas village

Sasaram : A married woman Suman Devi committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at her house at village Lahari under Kochas police station in Rohtas district around midnight on March 4, 2019. On getting information, police recovered the body and brought it over to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

A named FIR was lodged by Kochas police station against Suman Devi’s husband Pyre Lal Ram and in-laws on the statement of her father Yogendra Prasad Ram but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.

SHO, Kochas police station, Sushant Mandal, said that Suman Devi, daughter of Yogendra Prasad Ram of village Soridih Kargahar in Rohtas district was married to Pyare Lal Ram of village Lahari under Kochas police station in 2013 and she had two minor children but her relation with her in-laws was not good. The SHO, quoting the FIR, said that Suman’s in-laws always tortured her for more dowry and fed up with this she finally committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at her house at village Lahari. All the accused are absconding after the incident.
