Bokaro (Jharkhand): With a view to providing a platform to nurture talents of students in various fields of arts like visual art, singing, instrumental music, dance and folk arts etc, DPS Bokaro organised DPS ‘Little Star Contest’ 2019  to judge their hidden talents on its Primary Wing campus here on March 5, 2019.

In the open contest hundreds of student from Classes 2 to 5 took part enthusiastically and demonstrated their individual and group talents which mesmerised those witnessing the entire show. The Star Performers were awarded with a trophy and a certificate which were given away by the Director and Principal, DPS Bokaro, Dr Hemlata S Mohan.

Praising the electrifying performances of the youngsters, she said, ‘DPS ‘Little Star Contest’ is a great platform which provides an opportunity to all the young students to exhibit their versatility with a stage performance. The students are encouraged to pick their area of interest and perform live on stage which not only enhances their creative talent but also provides them a huge exposure.” Dr Mohan also appreciated the teaching staff for their hard work in preparing the students and thanked the participants for their active participation in the programme and being such a sport.

The judges on this talent hunt were Sunil Kumar, Nirmalaya Sharma, Mrityunjoy Bhattacharya, Vicky Anand Pathak, Bhaskar Ranjan Dey, and Anil Kumar Gope.

The programme was anchored by Jacqueline Surin and Swati Sinha. During the programme, Vice Principal P Shailaja Jayakumar, Headmistress Sunita Bhardwaj were also present. The star performers in various categories included Visual Art Group – Dhruv Satyam, Piyush and Soham Raj, Visual Art Solo- Ayush Keshri, Dance- Anushree Tripathi and Instrumental- Nityam Agarwal.
