Woman abandons her newborn child on Sadar Hospital, Ara, campus

Ara : A woman abandoned her newborn daughter near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the campus of Sadar Hospital, Ara, on September 28, 2018. The hospital staff recovered the girl and admitted her to the SICU at the Sadar Hospital where she is undergoing treated. Deputy Superintendent, Sadar Hospital, Dr Satish Kumar Sinha, said that the girl was recovering fast.

Sunita Singh, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, has expressed her serious concern over the increasing incidents of women abandoning their newborn children. Over a dozen newborn children have been recovered from different places in Bhojpur district so far in 2018 this year and were given issueless persons wishing to adopt and bring up such children.
