Wawrinka beats Tsitsipas to reach French Open QFs

Patna : World No 28 and 2015 champion Stan Wawrinka, Switzerland, beat World No 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas, Greece, in a five-set marathon on June 2, 2019, night, at Roland Garros, Paris, France, to enter the quarter-finals (QFs) of French Open. Wawrinka upset Tsitsipas  7-6, 5-7, 6-4, 3-6, 8-6 in a nail biting finish.

Wawrinka fired 16 Aces in the match to just 3 by Tsitsipas, the 6th seed. Both the players won 5 break points each in the match. Both of them also won 3 games each in a row in the match. Tsitsipas committed 7 double faults to 3 by Wawrinka, the 24th seed . The Swis won 131 service points to 120 by Tsitsipas.
