Watertable goes down in many areas in Muzaffarpur

Muzafarpur : Watertable has gone down 10 feet in urban and 5 feet in rural areas of Muzaffarpur district creating water crisis in Marwan, Maniari, Sakra and Kurhni areas. Handpumps have gone dry in many areas under Kanti Nagar Panchayat and Motipur Nagar Panchayat in the district in this sultry heat. Former minister and senior HAM ( S) leader Ajit Singh has blamed Kanti Thermal Power Plant authorities for the situation and has threatened to launch an agitation if things did not improve soon.
